VMware announces Q1 2012 earnings Posted: 19 Apr 2012 05:27 AM PDT Yesterday VMware announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2012. Total revenue for the Q1 was $1.055 billion, up 25% from Q1 2011. Looking in detail the informations provided we can see how license revenue has a growth, over Q1 2011, of 15% compared to a 35.3% growth for software maintenance. Professional services, always at the end of the chain of revenue, grew a good 32.9% from $61 million to $81 million.

Eucalyptus Systems announces Series C funding for an additional $30 million Posted: 18 Apr 2012 09:43 AM PDT Today Eucalyptus System announces a new Series C funding round for an amount of $30 million. This investment, led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) and joined by existing investors like Benchmark Capital, BV Capital and New Enterprise Associates (NEA) brings the total founding to $55.5 million. The increase in capital has come barely a month after the announcement of the partnership between Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Eucalyptus System, which raised company's credibility in the race for the best Open Source Cloud project.
