A device attached to the system is not functioning Posted: 26 Sep 2012 12:08 AM PDT Hello We use AppV 5.0 bèta in our test environment to deploy some applications. We use a virtual disk to store the userdata in. We have a strange problem: often when logging on and trying to start a virtualized application, we get an error saying that a device attached to the system is not functioning. Logging off and on again solves this problem. I have checked the eventlog, but I can't find an error message about this issue. I have a screenshot attached (it's in dutch). What could be the cause of this problem (I don't think it's really appv related, but I don't know where to start searching. Everything works ok, and the virtual disk is accessible and the user profile loads correctly). Thanks for any advice! Posted: 25 Sep 2012 06:40 PM PDT Recently I wanted to start playing with CloudStack. Doing so required a Linux VM on my XenServer. I decided to opt for CentOS 6.3 x64. From my previous work with Ubuntu I knew that switching to PV mode could lose me access to the console. So I started scouring the Internet in search for how to get VNC up and running for console access before…

Will You Take the Red Pill or the Blue Pill? Posted: 25 Sep 2012 09:31 AM PDT "You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes." – Morpheous from The Matrix. I couldn't resist. It's a poignant quote in a time of rapid change for the world. And isn't that ultimately what…

Completely Virtualized environment using AppV Posted: 25 Sep 2012 06:05 AM PDT Hi All, We are about to create a completely virtualized environment using AppV. And while performing that i came to know a specific senario i.e of upgrade. Suppose we have 10 application which requires java as a prerequisite. If we installs java locally then there is no problem but if we virtualize java as well the we have to perform DSC with all the 10 application. But if in future a newer version of java comes then how to about that? Do we again need to virtualize newer version of java and again perform the DSC or there is other ways as well? If nyone has created such virtualized environment please let me know. Surender Gousain This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now
