Launching App-V 5.0 applications from commandline? Posted: 05 Oct 2012 01:24 AM PDT Is it possible to launch an App-V 5 application from the commandline? Could not find anything about this in the admin guide. With App-V 4.6 we used sfttray.exe "xxxxx.osd", is there something similar availible with App-V 5? Posted: 04 Oct 2012 04:57 PM PDT On Friday September 28, 2012, Dell announced to have completed the acquisition of Quest Software. Californian Quest was founded in 1978 and it is famous for being the maker of Toad (Tool for Oracle Application Developers) used for development and management of relational databases using SQL. Quest software The company was also known for investing in technology areas such as virtualization, cloud automation and backup and recovery. Apparently Dell has completed its acquisition of Quest Software at $28 a share, or $2.4 billion, in July, the price seems to have been approved by Dell stockholders on September 25. This acquisition would permit Dell to provide an end-to-end solution , by offering virtualization, mobile applications and software deployment services. Californian vCider develops virtual network overlay technology for secure data center infrastructure., according to the acquisition the product will be integrated into Cisco's Cloud Computing organization, and it is supposed to be an important move for Cisco Open Network Environment (ONE) strategy, in support of OpenStack which Cisco joined over a year ago. vCider delivered a multi-tenant distributed virtual network controller, Cisco's plan is to use its acquisition's technology in order to develop virtualization infrastructure.
