VMware announces acquisition of Virsto Software Posted: 12 Feb 2013 01:09 AM PST VMware yesterday announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Virsto Software. Virsto provides virtual storage optimization software for both VMware vSphere but also Microsoft Hyper-V. Virsto claims that it can reduce the cost of storage per desktop as much as 70 procent, by using its storage optimization technology. Now that VMware is the owner of Virsto, it's very interesting to see whether it will continue to support the use of its software on the Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisor in the future. It would seem logical to just integrate this software into the vSphere offering, but since also VMware is now focussing on multi hypervisor management this remains to be seen. AppV Client - application issues Posted: 11 Feb 2013 08:52 AM PST Currently using AppV Client 4.6 SP1, sequenced application Sage Accounts 2010 has issues with running reports for some users only, error relates to OBDC, 08001 data files are wrong version, 0100 the driver returned is invalid, SQL_DRIVER_OBDC_Ver 18.0, 01000 the driver does'nt support the version of ODBC behaviour that the application requested (see SQLSetEnvAttr). The following is an extract from a clients log files, the package has 2 services showing in the sequencer when opening the app for edit, Sage SData which is set to auto, the other 'Install Driver Table Manager' is on manual. Procmon shows an 'invalid device' when running the reports on the client. Can anyone advise if the error below is specific to the application?
