NVIDIA presents Virtual Graphics Server Posted: 22 Mar 2013 01:29 PM PDT NVIDIA, the American technology company based in Santa Clara, California, manufacturer of graphics processing units (GPUs) announced the release of GPU-accelerated virtual desktops, a graphic card accelerator.The company wants to provide the benefits of virtualization with its NVIDIA GRID technology, Dell, HP and IBM are offering NVIDIA GRID-based servers and Citrix, Microsoft and VMware are offering NVIDIA GRID-enabled software. NVIDIA GRID enterprise solutions include NVIDIA GRID VGX and NVIDIA GRID K1 and K2 boards, which are purpose-built for demanding server environments. NVIDIA GRID K1 boards are designed to host the maximum number of concurrent users, while NVIDIA GRID K2 boards are designed to serve the specific needs of users of graphics-intensive applications. NVIDIA has also launched a certification program and testing cente, NVIDIA and Citrix are working together to establish an NVIDIA and Citrix Ready® verification program offering fast track validation to OEMs and ISVs on NVIDIA GRID K1 and K2 cards and Citrix XenDesktop solutions.
