Release: Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac

On August 22, Parallels has announced Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac and today the upgrade has been made available for current users and it will be possible for new users to purchase next tuesday, September 4.

Parallels Desktop 8 is a desktop virtualization platform that allows to run both Windows 8 and Mac OS X Mountain Lion applications together, this integration benefits of Mountain Lion's new features and implements them to Windows programs, such as support for Launchpad, Dictation, Notification Center and Mission Control.
This release follows the recently introduced Fusion 5 from VMware, which improved considerably overall performance for both Mountain Lion and Windows 8 virtualization on Macs.
This new update provides:
  • Integration of Windows notifications into the Mac OS X Notification Center
  • Resource monitoring
  • Mountain Lion gestures for Windows apps
  • Retina display support
  • Integration with Mountain Lion's Launchpad, Dictation, Notification Center and Mission Control
  • Improved graphics and overall performances

Intel partners with VMware to increase security in the Cloud

Monday Intel announced a new collaboration with VMware to deliver a platform for trusted cloud that combines Intel Trusted Execution Technology (TXT), a security capability built-in the new Intel Xeon processors E3, E5 and E7 series that make easier to move virtual machines across clouds to "known good" trusted pools of server, with the new release of VMware vSphere 5.1.
