RDS client trouble opening program Posted: 19 Oct 2012 02:01 PM PDT I have several RDS clients that are trying to run the same program but when they do they receive this error message.  Unable to open file..  blah blah.  Because it is already open with write permissions by another user.   First time I have see this.  Is this a program issue, something with the package or program? Release: Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter Tool 1.0 Posted: 19 Oct 2012 01:52 PM PDT Microsoft beginning this month released the Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter Tool and the Virtual Machine Converter Plug-in for the VMware vSphere Client . Microsoft started the beta of the Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter (MVMC) tool in April this year and released the beta of the Plug-in for the vSphere client in August this year. The MVMC is a so called Solution Accelerator, and it is able to convert VMware-based Virtual Machines to Microsoft Hyper-V VMs and disks. Providing these kinds of tooling is extremely important if Microsoft wants to support their customers who want to migrate to Hyper-V from vSphere. The tool provides the following functionality: Can convert and deploy VMs from VMware hosts running either vSphere 4.1 or 5.0 to Hyper-V hosts on Windows Server 2012, by migrating configuration such as memory, virtual processor and by adding virtual network interface cards. Converts VMware virtual disks to Microsoft Virtual Hard Disks (VHDs) Uninstalls VMware tools prior to conversion and installs Integration Services if the guest OS is Windows Server 2003 SP2 Supports Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 guest Operating Systems. Scriptable command-line interface and wizard-driver GUI The Plug-in for the vSphere Client extends the vSphere Client context menu so that the MVMC can be triggered from the vSphere Client.
