NEC announces virtual switch for Microsoft Hyper-V Posted: 30 Jan 2013 12:52 PM PST Since the latest release of Hyper-V (version 3) as part of Windows Server 2012, Microsoft supports adding third party virtual switches. Cisco already announced that its Nexus virtual switch would be supported on Hyper-V as well. Now NEC has announced the release and general availability of the ProgrammableFlow PF1000 virtual switch for Microsoft Hyper-V. The ProgrammableFlow Controller is Open SDN software for virtualizing and automating networks, supporting the OpenStack Folsom and OpenFlow protocol. Ideally suited for corporate and service provider data centers, ProgrammableFlow Controller provides virtual L2 and L3 networks with Quality of Service (QoS) and IPv6 support across an OpenFlow enabled switch fabric. location of user settings in app-v 5.0 Posted: 29 Jan 2013 07:35 AM PST We have a remote desktop services environment with app-v 4.6 as the main technology to deploy applications to the users. User specific settings for thos app-v packages are stored in %appdata%, which is located on our file server through folder redirection to avoid romaing profile bloat. I have now started a project to migrate those applications to app-v 5.0 I successfully setup a app-v full infrastructure and created some simple application packages. The app-v client is installed on the RDS server together with the 4.6SP2 client. What i see now is that the user specific settings are stored in %localappdata%\Microsoft\AppV\Client\VFS instead of %appdata%\Microsoft\AppV\Client\VFS. The result of this is that those folders are not part of the roaming profile thus are lost when the user logs off. I cannot find any option to store those files in %appdata%. I already tried publishing the applications global and/or per user, but this makes no difference. Is this the default behaviour and is there any solution to this ?
